Celebrate with us on Saturday October 7, 2017 at the Finlandia Hall

The ceremony and everything else is taking place at the Finlandia Hall (314 Bay Street) above the famous Hoito restaurant in Thunder Bay’s historic Bay-Algoma Area. The ceremony itself will start at 5:30 pm but please arrive at 5:00 pm in order to have the time to say hello and make yourself comfortable. Dress code is dressy casual.
Although we won’t be having a formal sit down meal, there will be delicious locally-sourced food for everyone! Pinetree Catering will have their food truck set up just outside the entrance to the Finlandia and will be serving full meals from 6:00 – 8:00 pm. There will also be appetizers in the hall from 5:00 pm onward to make sure no one goes hungry.
Both alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks will be served including local beer and locally-roasted coffee. We will have an open bar from 5:00 – 8:00 pm before it turns into a toonie bar – so bring some change! (Or bills or a debit card since there is an ATM in the lobby.)

Your presence is our present, and we do not expect any additional gifts from anyone! As such, we haven’t registered anywhere. If you do want to get us a token for this special occasion feel free to get in touch with us or one of our mothers. Otherwise, a nice card with a few words would be lovely.
We have started a blog to share local insights for out-of-town guests including our recommendations on where to stay, what to do, and where to eat in Thunder Bay. We are also writing stories about us on there (to replace long speeches on the day of the wedding) and will be adding stories from friends and family leading up to our wedding date.
Local Tarrymore beef and prosciutto patty topped with caramelized onion, fig chutney, and Veg-e-tate pea shoots. Served on a whole wheat bun with roasted garlic aioli and a side of pita chips and dip OR a side green pea shoot, shaved shallot, grapefruit and goat cheese salad.
Mad-Delicious Veggie Burger
Black bean, almond, oat and seed burger on a Five Star wheat bun with roasted garlic aioli, Veg-e-tate pea shoots and tomato. Served with root vegetable chips OR a side green pea shoot, shaved shallot, grapefruit and goat cheese salad.
Fresh walleye, smoked Thunder Oak Gouda cheese, salsa fresca, organic greens and sour cream all stuffed in a Brule Creek bannock shell. Served with pita chips and roasted pepper dip OR a side green pea shoot, shaved shallot, grapefruit and goat cheese salad. Can be requested as a salad for a gluten-free option.
